Flight attendants reveal the meaning of some commonly used phrases – an English news outlet reports.
According to this report, flight attendants often communicate with each other using secret words, the definitions of which are clear and understood only among themselves.
As reported by The Sun, airline attendants often use the term “bob” to refer to charming passengers, those who evoke extremely positive feelings. This term is an abbreviation for the phrase “best on board.”

It’s not unusual to hear the phrase “hot coffee” in the cabin, but it does not refer to an actual hot drink; rather, it indicates a nice traveler sitting in that section.
“If you say I have hot coffee at seat 3B, it means there is an extremely attractive passenger in that seat, which will be quite noteworthy for the other flight attendants,” one attendant said.
When there is a passenger causing trouble on the plane, you might hear the phrase “Harvesting” from the flight attendants.
This term is typically used in relation to those who have offended the flight attendants.
A passenger like that will “be punished” in some way by the crew members.
Also on the flight, attendants might use the term “Tom Cruise.”
“If the phrase ‘Tom Cruise is on board’ is heard, the crew knows that tea needs to be refilled in the left container and coffee topped up in the right container.”
With the rise of social media, flight attendants are increasingly sharing their professional tips.
