1. Millions of Jellyfish Disappear
Located on Eil Malk Island in Palau, Jellyfish Lake is a marine lake connected to the oceans through a network of cracks and tunnels. Every day, millions of jellyfish move into the lake, but from 1998 to 2000, not a single jellyfish could be found here.
There are many theories about the cause of this phenomenon, but scientists have yet to find a satisfactory answer.
2. Ice Discs
Ice discs, also known as ice pancakes or ice circles, are a rare natural phenomenon that occurs when water moves slowly at freezing temperatures.
Scientists do not know exactly how these ice discs form, but they may develop in whirlpools where thin sheets of ice rotate and gradually stick together. The diameter of these circles can vary significantly, ranging from just a few feet to 50 feet (over 15 meters).
3. Saturn’s Storm
In 2013, a massive storm was detected on the surface of Saturn by NASA’s spacecraft orbiting the planet. The eye of the storm measured approximately 1,250 miles (2,000 km) in diameter and moved at a speed of 530 km/h.
On Earth, storms form from warm air rising from the oceans; however, Saturn has no oceans. Therefore, the cause of such a gigantic storm remains unexplained.
4. Animal Rain
There have been many strange cases recorded of animals falling from the sky. In the summer of 2000 in Ethiopia, millions of both live and dead fish fell like rain, causing discomfort to the local residents. Most of these “animal rains” are believed to result from tornadoes or large storms that can suck water from rivers along with schools of fish.
However, this theory still poses a challenge to scientists because most of these rains consist of only one type of animal, such as fish, frogs, or birds. It seems that this phenomenon is not caused randomly by nature.
5. The Silent Zone
The Bolson de Mapimi desert area in Mexico is famously known as the Silent Zone, with many mysterious phenomena related to radio waves. In 1970, a U.S. military base in Utah tested a missile, but it immediately veered off course and crashed into the desert.
It is said that this missile became radioactive. People report that no radio signals, TV, shortwave, or satellite signals can penetrate this area. There have also been sightings of strange, humanoid golden beings in the vicinity.
6. Volcanic Lightning
Scientists have discovered that before volcanoes erupt, lightning flashes often occur. The theory suggests that positively charged ash particles released into the atmosphere become rapidly “charged” and emit bright flashes into the sky.
7. The Cat Sound
The sound of cats ranks among the most mysterious sounds known in the world. Science has been unable to determine how they use this sound, as cats often meow regardless of whether they are being petted, hungry, scared, resting, or even during childbirth.
8. The Song of Whales
Similar to cats, the songs of humpback whales have been studied by researchers for many years, leading to the conjecture that they sing to attract mates during the breeding season.
9. The Origin of the Universe
In the modern world, the Big Bang theory is the model that explains the formation of the universe, suggesting that the universe originated from a singularity. It posits that around 14 billion years ago, space was compressed into a single point and then expanded at the speed of light.
However, this theory does not provide any explanation for the time before the Big Bang, and what existed in the primordial state remains one of the greatest mysteries today.
10. The Moving Stones
Death Valley is a long and narrow valley located in the eastern Mojave Desert, California. It is also the lowest, driest, and hottest area in North America. Notably, there is a large dry lake where stones (weighing up to 320 kg) are able to move and leave long trails on the cracked ground behind them.
Many theories have been proposed to explain the movement of these stones, such as the influence of magnetic fields, whirlwinds, slick algae layers, thin ice, or even the involvement of extraterrestrial beings.
However, the phenomenon of moving stones in Death Valley remains an unsolved mystery for many years.
11. The Death of Turtles
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is still puzzled by this phenomenon. Turtles in Keystone Heights suddenly died en masse in the sand at the end of Pinon Road.
Experts have tried every hypothesis but concluded that psychological trauma was the main cause.
12. Billions of Sea Creatures
Billions of microorganisms known as “drifters” have washed up along the western coastline.
These blue sea creatures arrived in large numbers, amounting to billions. No one understands what happened, and no one knows where they came from.
13. Red Lights
Two Russian pilots reported seeing a red glow beneath the Pacific Ocean. Five hours after taking off from Hong Kong (China) to Alaska, a light suddenly appeared in the distance.
Not long after, they saw a red-orange halo appear. No storms were detected in the area at that time.
14. Dead Fish
In 2012, thousands of herring covered the beaches of North Norway and then mysteriously disappeared.
The number of fish vanished before an official count was made, with estimates reaching up to 20 tons.
15. Blue Sphere Rain
After a storm in England, tiny blue spheres fell from the sky.
Witnesses reported that the spheres had a hard outer shell and a soft core. They were odorless, non-sticky, and did not melt.
16. Cloudy Panama City
On the same day as a rare snowstorm in Libya in 2012, a strange wave-like cloud covered the entire beach of Panama City.
Many extreme theories were proposed, but no one could explain this eerie phenomenon.
17. Mysterious Noises
In 2012, residents of Costa Rica were awakened by a strange sound coming from the sky early in the morning. Many contacted local authorities to report the mysterious noise.
18. Diamond-Containing Rock
An enigmatic rock containing approximately 30,000 rough diamonds of various types was discovered in Russia.
Despite spending time researching it, scientists have been unable to explain the origin and cause of this ultra-rare rock’s existence.
19. The “Missing” Beach
The entire sandy beach at Porthleven (Cornwall, England) mysteriously vanished after an unusual tide.
However, after another high tide, almost all of the sand “returned.”
20. Frangokastello Castle, Greece
Crete is known for a time illusion uniquely recorded in the world. Every year, around the end of May, shadows of armed pedestrians and horse riders appear moving from the Agios Charalambos monastery to the Frangokastello fortress. This phenomenon is observed in the early morning when the sea is calm and the humidity is high, lasting about 10 minutes. The German forces occupying these lands almost went mad with fear and began shooting at the mirage.
21. The Czech Tomb, Czech Republic
Legend has it that the sound of an organ emanates from the Czech tomb. In 1996, scientists recorded it. The tunnel is 30 meters deep, and there is no room that could accommodate such a large instrument nearby. Psychologists also examined witnesses present to rule out the theory of mass hallucination. However, the main phenomenon found was the “Shining Corridor.” Samples showed no phosphorus in it. At first glance, this corridor appears quite normal, but soon it begins to emit a stream of orange-red light.
22. Stone Forest, China
This may be the greatest wonder of China. The Stone Forest appeared over 200 million years ago. Previously, this area was underwater, and thick layers of limestone formed massive structures. Tectonic forces shaped the surface of the stone. Deep within the forest, Qifeng Cave is a truly strange place: from August to November, every 30 minutes, an underground river creates a vortex that lasts only a few minutes before dissipating.
23. Dolmens (Roknia, South Korea, China, India, Israel, Scandinavia, Russia)
Massive ancient stone slabs forming a “table” have been found in various locations around our planet. Archaeologists consider them to be the tombs of ancient priests. Dolmens (a type of tomb made from large stones, typically consisting of at least three upright stones supporting a large, flat, horizontal stone) disrupt clock speeds and cause other devices to function abnormally.
