The owner of Lyznia, a cat dubbed the “fattest cat in the world” weighing up to 21 kg, is facing threats from the online community for allegedly “animal cruelty” due to allowing her pet to become excessively large.
Lyznia is a female gray cat that many have affectionately called the “fattest cat in the world”, known for her adorable face and plump body. She is also an Instagram “star” with over 11,000 followers on the platform.
After images of the obese cat went viral on the internet, the female owner recently began receiving critical comments for overfeeding her pet and neglecting its health.
However, the woman responded to the criticisms, stating that Lyznia has had weight issues since her first pregnancy a few years ago.
According to the owner’s explanation, Lyznia suffers from uncontrollable weight gain after giving birth.
“There are some misunderstandings. Let me clarify. We have never tried to overfeed Liznya. She doesn’t eat anything other than her diet food. It’s true that my cat was pregnant and gave birth, but I can’t claim that this is the exact reason for her obesity“, the owner of Lyznia explained.
She elaborated that Lyznia has been experiencing uncontrollable weight gain since her first pregnancy, despite examinations and treatments with a veterinarian. The cat was prescribed various types of weight loss food, but she continued to gain weight until she was only eating 29 grams of dry food per meal.
Despite all the explanations, accusations of animal cruelty continued to appear in the comments, with many claiming that her owner is slowly killing Lyznia. “If this situation continues, I swear I will report you to the police for animal cruelty”, one of Lyznia’s fans commented harshly.
In an effort to reassure everyone and avoid legal troubles, Lyznia’s owner even posted a video showing the cat eating only 29 grams of diet cat food each day.
