The Animal Health Department (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) reported that while many provinces have successfully controlled outbreaks and removed themselves from the “red” map, new outbreaks continue to emerge. Yesterday (December 7), Yen Bai reported an outbreak.

On December 2, outbreaks occurred in three poultry farms across two communes in Tran Yen and Luc Yen districts (Yen Bai), resulting in the death of 42 chickens and 19 ducks. The provincial veterinary department has culled 4,183 chickens and 1,429 ducks. Test results were positive for the H5 avian influenza virus.
In Ninh Binh, from December 4 to 5, outbreaks in five farms across four communes in three districts, including Yen Mo, Tam Diep town, and Gia Vien, led to the death of 21 chickens and 221 ducks. Samples from the affected farms have been sent for testing, and the veterinary department has culled 1,032 chickens and 1,788 ducks and geese from those farms.
Yesterday (December 6), in Thuan Loc commune, Hau Loc district (Thanh Hoa), 25 chickens died, and 45 chickens were culled. Although no new outbreaks have been reported in Hai Duong province, authorities have culled 76,049 ducks and geese as a precaution.
Currently, there are 164 communes in 60 districts, towns, and cities across 14 provinces and cities with outbreaks that have not been controlled for 21 days, including Bac Ninh, Cao Bang, Hai Duong, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho, Son La, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa, Hai Phong, Vinh Phuc, Quang Ninh, Nghe An, Ha Giang, and Yen Bai.
In Bac Giang: No new outbreaks have been reported in the past 21 days.
From October 1 to now, a total of 3.005 million poultry have been culled (including poultry culled within urban areas).
