Adobe software announces the addition of the “Generative Fill” feature with AI assistance.
Specifically, in the introduction video from Adobe, users can add, remove, or change the color of objects with simple commands. To operate, users simply select the desired area of the image, click “Generative Fill”, and input their command. Instantly, the software will adjust according to the user’s request. For instance, if a user wants to add yellow road lines to an image of a cyclist, they just need to select the area and enter the command “Yellow road lines” (translated: Vạch kẻ đường màu vàng). The road lines will be automatically added. Moreover, the “Generative Fill” mode sometimes offers three different results for users to choose from.
Ely Greenfield, Chief Technology Officer for Digital Media at Adobe, stated that the idea behind these AI tools is not to replace artists or graphic designers but to assist them in quickly creating new images from their ideas. Previously, graphic designers often spent hours searching through image repositories and manually piecing them together.
Currently, this is only the Beta version of the “Generative Fill” feature. The complete version is set to be released in the second half of 2023.
Generative Fill is part of the Adobe Firefly project – an AI application launched by Adobe in March 2023. This tool allows users to create unique digital artwork without the involvement of a professional artist, using resources exclusively from Adobe Stock, free content, and publicly licensed images to ensure copyright safety.
