During the pandemic, Deanich Lodge became a “shining star” attracting tourists due to its remote geographical location.
Deanich Lodge is known by many nicknames such as “one of the loneliest lodges in the world” or “the most remote place in Britain,” thanks to its isolated geographical position from the rest of Scotland.
In fact, this house is situated in a beautiful valley more than an hour’s drive north of Inverness, and is part of the Alladale Wilderness Reserve.
The house includes a living room, dining area with an open space, a heating room, and a fully equipped kitchen, along with two large bathrooms and two toilets.
The lodge can accommodate up to 18 people, featuring 5 bedrooms that include both bunk beds and single beds.
The spacious, simple house is fully equipped with dedicated staff ready to assist with any requests from guests. Guests are also provided with delicious meals made from fresh vegetables picked from the garden and venison – a favorite dish of the eagles.
Guests can enjoy their meals while gazing at nature through the dining room window, with meadows and mountains covered in flowers in the distance. “My family, along with our three small children and two dogs, had an unforgettable time here,” noted one guest.
The simplicity in the design of the house, the natural landscape, and the social distance help you escape the hustle and bustle of the city. You even have to walk to the top of the hill to catch a mobile signal.
Guests access this lodge via a small road, and the means of transportation to get here is a 4×4 vehicle due to the rugged roads. The scenery along the way is considered spectacular, with crystal-clear streams flowing through lush green valleys.
The Alladale Wilderness Reserve spans 23,000 acres, situated in the Scottish Highlands. This place is described as having “the impressive lights of Alladale with colorful hills, sparkling rivers, and wildlife that will captivate visitors.” The reserve also offers several other lodges for guests to choose from.
Surrounded by majestic hills, here guests will encounter more deer than people, and eagles often soar in the sky above.
