A man traveled to Spain and arrived in Pamplona during the bullfighting festival. After his first day there, he went out quite late for dinner at a restaurant located in the town center. He ordered the restaurant’s special dish and was served a plate with potatoes, corn, and two large meatballs.
“What is this?” he asked.
“It’s Co-don, sir,” the waiter replied.
“What is Co-don?”
“Co-don,” the waiter explained, “is the ‘prize’ of the bull that lost in the arena this afternoon.”
At first, he felt disgusted, but being an adventurous person, he decided to try the dish. Surprisingly, it was quite delicious. In fact, it was so good that he decided to return to the restaurant the next day to eat it again. This time, when the waiter brought out the plate, the two meatballs were much smaller.
“What is this?” he asked the waiter.
“Co-don, sir,” the waiter replied.
“No, no,” he protested. “I just had this dish here yesterday, and the meatballs were much bigger than this.”
“Sir,” the waiter explained, “not every bull loses.”
