A livestock owner called snake expert Chawatama Marimo (from Zimbabwe) after discovering a massive creature on the road. Upon arrival, the expert found a gigantic python.
The snake expert also ran away when faced with this difficult situation.
However, this python was anything but docile. It lunged at the expert, causing him to slip and flee. It was quite a humorous scene that, at first glance, might lead many to think this was a novice snake catcher.
The python featured in the video is a Southern African rock python (scientific name: Python natalensis) – a species that can grow over 5 meters long and weigh between 44 to 55 kg when fully grown, making it the largest python in Southern Africa.
This rock python is well-known for its appearances in many myths and cultural stories of the indigenous people. They even mimic the patterns of this python to create bags, shoes, belts, and various other items.
Africans believe that this species of python can kill a person. However, it is also revered among Africans, who see it as a creature that allows them to communicate with their ancestors.
