The Center for the Application and Transfer of Scientific and Technological Advances under the Department of Science and Technology of Vinh Phuc has successfully researched and applied the scientific project titled “Experimenting with the Use of Urozhai Photoselective Film for Constructing Seedling Greenhouses and Cultivating Plants After In Vitro Culture“. The project has been successfully implemented on three types of plants: hybrid eucalyptus U6, aloe vera, and hybrid acacia.
The Urozhai photoselective film helps balance temperature, reduce greenhouse effects, block ultraviolet rays, and convert ultraviolet light into red light, which enhances the photosynthetic stimulation for plants, leading to better growth.
The center has constructed a Urozhai greenhouse covering 70 m2, conducting four rounds of cuttings each year with approximately 50,000 plants of various types. After four testing rounds, the percentage of seedlings meeting the requirements for field planting exceeded 85%, an increase of 10%. The height of the plants after the experiment increased by 302%, 0.5 times higher than before, while the weight of the plants achieved 43.9%, a 0.3 times increase. The vegetative growth cycle of the plants was reduced by 12.5 days, and crop yields increased by 10-15% compared to the control group.
Notably, the Urozhai film can be used for 5-6 consecutive years, with an investment cost of 15-20 million VND for 100 m2. The successful application of Urozhai film in cutting propagation and plant cultivation after in vitro culture has effectively replaced older covering materials such as nylon and polyethylene, which were less efficient. This also marks the first successful experiment in Vinh Phuc province as well as nationwide aimed at increasing crop yields.
