On September 28, a Japanese company specializing in robotics launched a new product known as the “Roborior Home Robot.” With this robot, owners can remotely monitor everything happening in their homes.
Roborior is priced at approximately $2,600 and is available at five locations across Japan. This robot can move in all directions and lights up when it receives simple commands from a mobile phone. Its adorable appearance also makes it a potential decorative item in the home. However, the main purpose of Roborior is to function as a mobile phone equipped with a camera, allowing users to see what it observes no matter where they are.
Youichi Takamoto, Chairman of Tmsuk, stated: “This robot can detect objects within a 5-meter radius or see directly up to 10 meters away. As soon as it detects any unusual sounds or if an intruder enters the house, the robot will immediately contact your mobile phone.”
Temzack reported that they have received numerous orders. The primary customers are doctors with clinics far from home or families with children or pets that often stay home alone. However, Roborior has a minor drawback: its battery life is not very strong. If you make it move continuously, the battery will deplete within one hour.
