A fisherman named Chance Miller captured an intriguing video of an octopus escaping from his boat through a tiny hole.
The clip was filmed by Chance Miller while he was fishing off the coast of Chiswell, Alaska (USA).
In the video, a giant octopus, after being pulled aboard the boat, attempts to find a way to escape, and its method of escape leaves many people astonished.
The octopus slips through a narrow hole to return to the ocean.
Miller noted that the octopus seemed to instinctively know the way back to the ocean. Since octopuses lack bones, they can easily maneuver through the tightest spaces.
Feeling threatened, the octopus wriggled its way through a tiny hole in the boat to return to the safety of the water.
Octopuses are short-bodied, soft-bodied, oval-shaped creatures belonging to the order Octopoda, which live on the ocean floor. There are approximately 289 to 300 species of octopus on Earth, making up more than one-third of all mollusk species.
Among all marine creatures, octopuses are classified as the most intelligent animals. Their nervous system operates quite complexly, with over two-thirds of their neurons located in the nerves of their tentacles. Octopus tentacles exhibit complex reflexes controlled by at least three levels of the nervous system.
