Despite suffering a horrific disaster, the headless fish continued to swim and survived for an additional 3 days.
The goldfish lost its head to a puffer fish in the same tank.
A video capturing a headless fish swimming energetically in a fish tank was uploaded by a man from Taiwan (China) on Facebook and quickly garnered attention.
Specifically, a goldfish had its head bitten off by a puffer fish sharing the tank. The astonishing part is that despite losing such a vital part, the fish continued to swim happily for 3 days afterward.
Lin Shaolun, the owner of the fish, stated that he intended to put the goldfish in the tank as food for the puffer fish. However, what transpired afterward was beyond his expectations.
After the clip was shared, many netizens speculated that the puffer fish might have only bitten off the jaw of the goldfish, leaving the head and skull intact, which could explain why the fish was still able to move around.
