“The water in the lake is not only pink but can also turn red, yellow, or even blue, while the pink salt on the shore sparkles like snow, all resembling a real abstract painting,” she shared on Boredpanda – (Photo: Kristina Makeeva).
This area hosts the largest microalgae production facility in the world, covering approximately 250 hectares dedicated to algae cultivation for commercial extraction of ß-carotene. The unique lake attracts many tourists from all over the world. The lake’s colors are most vibrant when the sky is clear and the sun is high. The color of the lake is also determined by the number of algae blooming at that time. According to scientists, algae reproduce more when the water is saltier – (Photo: Kristina Makeeva).
