The advanced flying motorcycle named “The Speeder” is a groundbreaking invention from Jetpack Aviation, expected to be available for sale starting in 2023.
Jetpack Aviation, a company renowned for its vertical takeoff and landing technology, has announced that its prototype jet-powered flying motorcycle has successfully completed its first test flight.

The California-based company is hoping to produce two versions for consumers.
Dubbed The Speeder, this futuristic vehicle is built with Jetpack Aviation’s unique flight control software program that helps monitor and adjust thrust while in motion, according to Robb Report.
The software, which took a year and a half to develop, allows the vehicle to operate like a conventional motorcycle in the air and has the capability to automatically stabilize during flight.
“We will have a super lightweight version [which does not require a pilot’s license] ready within two years and a prototype version within six months after that,” said Jetpack Aviation CEO David Mayman to Robb Report.
“The super lightweight version will be limited to a speed of 60 miles per hour (per FAA regulations) and a flight time of 15 minutes. The prototype version will require a basic pilot’s license. This version will have a speed of around 250 miles per hour with a flight time of approximately 35 minutes.”

The Speeder boasts eight impressive turbines that allow the vehicle, weighing 300 pounds, to carry double its weight.
Owners of this vehicle will enjoy features such as manual controls, a 12-inch navigation display, and an integrated radio system.
The updated version, named Speeder 2.0, will undergo more rigorous testing this summer before the design process is finalized and the final production phase begins.
Jetpack Aviation also hopes to provide commercial versions for military and public safety organizations in the future.
These flying motorcycles will include detachable wings for higher speeds, along with additional compartments for storing medical and firefighting equipment.
The company recently struck a deal with Prometheus Fuels to use 100% carbon-free fuel, aiming to support environmentally friendly testing and production.
Jetpack Aviation has set the initial price of The Speeder at $381,000 (£274,792) and has begun accepting pre-orders from tech vehicle enthusiasts.
