When we think about eliminating harmful microorganisms, what often comes to mind are hand sanitizers, antibacterial hand wash, disinfectant sprays, or wipes. But have you ever considered UV lights?
This may sound quite unusual to many, but UV radiation has long been used to kill bacteria and viruses. This radiation can serve as a disinfectant for water, air, or any other non-porous surfaces.
There are three types of UV radiation based on the wavelength of light: UVA, UVB, and UVC. UVA and UVB are classified as long-wavelength radiation, while UVC has the shortest wavelength.
