A catfish lunges up, pulling a pigeon into the water.
A flock of pigeons gathered by the riverbank after foraging for food in the city. They came here to wash off the dirt and cool down their bodies. However, they did not expect a terrifying “water monster” was lurking, waiting for them.
As the pigeons bathed, their movements disturbed the water, and oil from their feathers mixed into the stream, allowing the “water monster” to detect their presence. The predator lunged unexpectedly to drag the pigeons under the water.
With their heads submerged, the pigeons had no time to escape, and only a few near the shore managed to evade death. The attacker was none other than the European catfish (Scientific name: Silurus glanis) – a massive fish that can reach nearly 2.5 meters in length and weigh 113 kilograms.
