Starting February 10, the weather in the northern region will begin to warm up.
Regarding the intense cold and prolonged drizzles currently affecting the northern region, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Hưởng – Head of Climate Forecasting at the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, stated in an interview: “The current cold and rainy conditions in the north are expected to last until the end of February 9, with temperatures beginning to warm up on February 10.”
According to Mr. Hưởng, although temperatures will start to rise on February 10, with sunny afternoons, a cold front is expected to strengthen around the night of February 12, causing the cold and rainy weather in the northern region to continue.
“There will be many days of light rain and drizzles this February. By around February 15-16, there is a possibility of sunshine returning,” Mr. Hưởng noted.
Mr. Hưởng advised that intense cold spells will mainly occur in February 2022, and there is a need to be cautious about the possibility of frost in high mountainous areas during this period.
He further shared that during February and March 2022, the weather will be humid, with an increase in light rain, drizzles, and fog compared to this time of year in the northern region; meanwhile, there is little likelihood of extreme heat occurring at the beginning of summer in the northern and central regions.
