A Hippopotamus Loses Its Life After Wandering into Lion Territory
This incident took place in Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya, and was captured by tourists.
In the video, a solitary hippopotamus accidentally strays into the territory of a pride of lions. Although it is not the preferred prey of lions, they still decide to attack the intruder.
A lion charges in, quickly bringing the hippopotamus to the ground.
Shortly after, a male lion quietly approached the prey from behind. With the impressive strength of a top predator on the savannah, the lion swiftly knocked the hippopotamus to the ground. As a result, unable to escape, the hippopotamus became a meal for the hunters.
Despite their somewhat bulky and slow appearance, hippopotamuses are surprisingly agile and dangerous. They are considered one of the most aggressive creatures in the world.
Statistics show that the bite force of a hippopotamus is terrifying, capable of crushing one or two adult crocodiles at once.
Hippopotamuses are particularly aggressive when their territory is invaded or when their young are threatened. This is why indigenous people in Africa can easily lose their lives if they accidentally trespass into hippopotamus territory. They will chase intruders, pull them into the water, and crush their boats.
