10 Scientists Working in Vietnam Ranked by Research.com in 6 Fields for “Outstanding Achievements in Scientific Publication.”
Research.com, a prestigious online portal for scientists worldwide, has announced the results of its ranking of scientists with exceptional achievements in scientific publication this month.
Research.com categorizes its rankings into 24 fields. Ten Vietnamese scientists currently working in Vietnam, including four from the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, have been ranked in six fields: Engineering and Technology, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering, and Community Medicine.
In the field of Engineering and Technology, there is Professor Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc, Head of the Training Department at Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Additionally, three foreign scientists also affiliated with Vietnamese institutions, including two from Ton Duc Thang University and one from Duy Tan University.

In the field of Environmental Science, there are Professor Dr. Pham Hung Viet and Associate Professor Dr. Tu Binh Minh, both from the University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering includes four Vietnamese scientists: Professor Nguyen Xuan Hung and Associate Professor Phung Van Phuc (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology); Associate Professor Nguyen Thoi Trung and Associate Professor Thai Hoang Chien (Ton Duc Thang University). The ranking also includes one foreign scientist affiliated with Ton Duc Thang University.
Community Medicine features Associate Professor Tran Xuan Bach from Hanoi Medical University; Materials Science includes Professor Nguyen Van Hieu from Phenikaa University; and Computer Science features Associate Professor Dr. Le Hoang Son from Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Additionally, in the field of Chemistry, there is Professor Nguyen Van Tuan (Philippe Derreumaux), an overseas Vietnamese from Australia, affiliated with Ton Duc Thang University.
The ranking of a scientist is assessed based on the D-index, which evaluates scientific papers and citation values in specific fields. For this ranking, Research.com reviewed data from 166,880 scientists with top publication and citation productivity worldwide.
Previously, in October 2021, the journal PLoS Biology (USA) published results ranking the 100,000 most influential scientists in the world for 2021. According to this ranking, Professor Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc and Associate Professor Dr. Le Hoang Son were among five Vietnamese scientists in the top 10,000 scientists globally.
In the field of Engineering and Technology, besides Professor Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc from Vietnam National University, there are also three foreign scientists affiliated with Ton Duc Thang University and Duy Tan University.
