According to the decision approved by the Prime Minister (No. 47/2006/QĐ-TTg, dated March 1, 2006), this outlines the total estimated budget for implementing the “Overall Project on Basic Investigation and Management of Marine Resources and Environment until 2010, with a vision to 2020”.
The investment and implementation of this project aim to achieve key objectives such as: enhancing basic investigations into the natural conditions, natural resources, and marine environment of Vietnam; establishing scientific grounds and legal bases to strengthen state management, promote potential advantages, and serve the sustainable development of our country’s marine, coastal, and island regions…
In the near future, according to the aforementioned decision, the government will establish a State Steering Committee for Basic Investigation of Marine Resources and Environment, led by a Deputy Prime Minister. In addition to the leadership from several relevant ministries and sectors, the leaders of some coastal provinces and cities will also be members of this Steering Committee.
