Intel has officially announced to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) that it will launch the Woodcrest processor generation, specifically designed for server systems, which will support a system bandwidth of 1333MHz in the third quarter of this year. However, there are indications that Intel is making efforts to introduce this product in the second quarter.
In the second quarter, users will also witness the launch of various chip types such as the Dempsey 3.73GHz, Presler 960 SKU, and Itanium Madison 533MHz. Notably, the Madison 533s chip will feature an L3 cache of up to 9MB and 6MB operating at a clock speed of 1.6GHz.
The Montecito 9000 product line is also expected to introduce new products around the middle of the second quarter this year. However, Intel has not yet made an official decision regarding the speed or cache size for the new Montecito line.
The Tulsa chip generation, featuring a 16MB L3 cache operating with a system bandwidth of 667/800, is also set to launch by the end of this year.
Overall, in the second quarter of this year, Intel will unveil a range of new products aimed at server systems.
