A man from Bosnia has decided to build a unique house that can rotate 360 degrees, allowing his wife to enjoy various beautiful views outside.
The 360-Degree Rotating House in a small town called Srbac in northern Bosnia has amazed many people with the owner’s creativity.
The unique 360-degree rotating house of Mr. Vojin Kusic.
Vojin Kusic, 72 years old, designed and built the house with a green facade and a red metal roof as a gift for his wife. There would be nothing remarkable about it if it were just a simple house in a spacious area surrounded by trees.
However, the house that Mr. Vojin Kusic created is incredibly unique, featuring a mechanism that allows it to rotate in a circle to satisfy his wife Ljubica’s desire to change the scenery every time she looks out the window.
“If she spots guests she doesn’t want approaching the house, she can rotate the house, changing the direction of the entrance, which will cause the guests to walk away,” Vojin Kusic explained.
In an effort to please his wife, who wanted to see different views while staying indoors, Mr. Vojin Kusic came up with the idea of a rotating house and devised a construction plan. This way, his wife can enjoy the sunrise for a moment and then switch to observing passersby.
Vojin Kusic stated: “I was tired of her complaints and the constant need to renovate our family home over the years. I decided to build a rotating house to fulfill my wife’s wishes. Once my children grew up and could take over the family business, I finally had the chance to retire and focus on completing the house.”
Previously, he had built a regular, immovable house for his family after getting married, where he and his wife raised three children.
The current house can rotate around a 0.7-meter long axis, situated on a fertile plain in northern Bosnia. It offers views of cornfields, forests, rivers, and village roads.
Mr. Vojin Kusic indicated that the house can complete a full rotation in 24 hours at its slowest speed, and at its fastest, it can rotate once in 22 seconds.
The 72-year-old man drew inspiration from Serbian-American inventors Nikola Tesla and Mihajlo Pupin. Coming from a poor family without proper education forced him to find ways to create everything himself.
“This is not a new invention; it just requires willpower and knowledge. I have enough time and knowledge,” Vojin Kusic said while personally designing and building the house.
Another advantage of Mr. Vojin Kusic’s house is its better earthquake resistance compared to fixed houses. It took him six years from the initial idea to completion, with some interruptions due to hospital stays.
