Deltacron – the gene structure of this new recombinant variant of SARS-CoV-2 has led vaccine experts to believe that it will not pose a significant threat.
However, until further studies on Deltacron are completed, health experts state that there are no specific symptoms associated with Deltacron among the 11 common symptoms of Covid-19 observed in patients.
Deltacron is expected to cause many similar symptoms and side effects for those facing Covid-19.
The complete list of Covid-19 symptoms includes:
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
Officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) indicate that Covid-19 symptoms can vary between individuals; while all 11 symptoms listed can occur in infected individuals, they may present in various types or severity levels as they recover.
This holds true for anyone who, theoretically, contracts Deltacron. Health experts say this variant will not cause entirely new symptoms. However, since both Delta and Omicron have been noted to often cause certain symptoms more frequently than others, it is anticipated that anyone infected with Deltacron is likely to experience the same group of symptoms.
Reportedly, Delta infections often lead to three specific symptoms – high fever, cough, and headache – while Omicron infections are typically characterized by chronic fatigue and body aches. Previous versions of the virus tended to produce symptoms related to the upper respiratory tract, including shortness of breath and loss of taste and smell (also known as anosmia).
If you experience any of the following symptoms, it may be a sign that you are infected with SARS-CoV-2 with the recombinant Deltacron variant:
- Headache
- High fever with sweating or chills afterward
- Sore throat
- Persistent cough
- Fatigue or unexplained loss of energy
- Chronic, widespread body aches
Like previous coronavirus variants, Deltacron is expected to cause many Covid-19 symptoms Covid-19.
Health experts assert that the Deltacron variant does not have new symptoms and reaffirm that the recombinant gene structure of this variant indicates that vaccines and the human immune system are well-equipped to handle any potential future exposures. The best way to avoid being affected by Deltacron, as well as any other virus variants, is to be fully vaccinated and receive a booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
If you are experiencing any of the symptoms listed above, a Covid-19 test is the quickest way to determine whether you are actually ill and may even allow you to confirm which harmful variant you are dealing with.
