This year, the Information Technology Award for Youth has been presented by the Central Youth Union in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology to outstanding individuals at the Government Office. Each award is valued at 15 million VND.
The eight recipients of the Golden Globe 2005 include Vo Thanh Minh Tue (Ho Chi Minh City), Pham Minh Ha (Quang Ninh), Nguyen An Khuong (Da Nang), Nguyen Bich Hoang Anh (Ho Chi Minh City), Pham Hai Nam (Ho Chi Minh City), Nguyen Viet Ha (Faculty of Information Technology, University of Technology), Tran Viet Phong (Automation Technology Department, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology), and Tang Hoang Sang (Can Tho).
To be honored with the Golden Globe, candidates must meet certain criteria such as achieving high rankings in international or regional IT competitions or having scientific research, technical solutions, or IT products that have been highly rated by the industry or local scientific councils.
During the award ceremony, the organizing committee also awarded 30 prizes to exemplary female students in the field of information technology, each receiving a commemorative medal, certificate of merit, and 4 million VND. According to representatives of the Central Youth Union, this initiative aims to encourage and motivate women to study and work in a field that is predominantly male. Over the past seven years, 248 female students have received this award.
