After each eating a super spicy Habanero pepper, the Canadian couple kissed passionately for 15 minutes and 6.5 seconds.
Mike and Jamie Jack, from Ontario, Canada, reignited their relationship by breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest kiss involving a Habanero pepper.
The couple each ate a Habanero pepper before locking lips, and they kissed passionately for a total of 15 minutes and 6.5 seconds. This was indeed the hottest kiss in the world in the literal sense.
After each eating a pepper, couple Mike and Jamie Jack performed the hot kiss for over 15 minutes.
Mike Jack stated that in order to set this record for their 15th wedding anniversary, they practiced by eating Habanero peppers every day for about a month before their passionate kiss. “Each of us had 30 seconds to eat the Habanero, and then we could kiss for as long as we wanted,” the husband shared.
Mike Jack has also set several other records for eating extremely spicy peppers, including Carolina Reapers and Bhut Jolokia peppers.
They were determined to set the record to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary.
“Whenever I break a record, my wife is always proud of me, and this time she is proud of herself as well,” Mike said. The couple revealed that they want to break more similar records in the future, but they also advise others not to attempt it unless they are truly ready.
The Habanero is ranked as the 19th hottest pepper in the world. On the Scoville scale, Habanero peppers measure between 100,000 to 350,000 Scoville heat units, which is double that of the Bird’s Eye chili—the hottest pepper in Vietnam.
Habanero is one of the hottest peppers in the world, currently grown widely in Vietnam.
Originating from South America, Habanero peppers are heat-tolerant and easy to grow, which is why they are now widely cultivated in Vietnam. The plants can be harvested after 3 to 3.5 months, yielding 60 to 100 peppers. Habanero peppers are grown for both ornamental purposes and for their fruit.
