Users looking to replace components for their laptops can find solutions in any country. This is one of the benefits of the Intel Verified program, which was recently announced by Intel, along with distributor G.C.C and various dealers in Ho Chi Minh City.
This program aims to promote the business of custom-built laptops for partners assembling under the Vietnamese brand.
According to Mr. Thieu Phuong Nam, Senior Business Director of Intel in Vietnam and the Indochina region, this benefit is made possible by standardizing laptop components. Intel is collaborating with major global equipment suppliers to develop seven interchangeable components for laptops: hard drives, optical drives, LCD screens, batteries, computer chassis, power supplies, and keyboards.
As a result, any retailer, dealer, or laptop manufacturer can choose components based on their preferences. Users can also customize and install certain components without needing technical assistance.
“Intel is committed to supporting a global warranty system. This is a significant difference compared to the program Intel announced over a year ago,” Mr. Nam stated. “With this program, the laptop market is no longer dominated by large companies. We are moving towards standardizing laptops similar to desktop computers.”
Mr. Nam also mentioned that the prices of these laptops will definitely be lower than similar products sold abroad. To illustrate this, a representative from Khai Tri Company announced the retail price for one model in the program at 1,045 USD. In contrast, a comparable model abroad is sold to dealers at a pre-tax price of 1,299 USD.
The program currently has 14 registered members and is expected to involve around 14,000 computer dealers.
