Hundreds of workers and technicians are rushing to complete the final stages in preparation for the 2023 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF).
On May 29, hundreds of workers, technical staff, and experts are diligently finalizing tasks to prepare for the opening night of the 2023 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF), which will take place on the evening of June 2.
According to reports, the stage construction on the eastern bank of the Han River – along Tran Hung Dao Street – is approximately 98% complete.
The organizers stated that the stage measures 1,050 m2, 62 m long, and 22 m wide. “The DIFF 2023 stage features a modern and spacious style to highlight the nighttime beauty of the Han River city. The focal point on the stage is a location seal that conveys the message that Da Nang is a global connection hub, igniting the spirit of unity across five continents, overcoming challenges after the pandemic,” shared Mr. Tran Xuan Hung, team leader responsible for the fireworks stage construction.
As of now, all stage components have been completed, with only aesthetic adjustments left to prepare for the “comeback” after a three-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The grandstand area is over 99% complete.
This year’s grandstand accommodates over 5,000 seats, divided into three sections and eight areas, with a total area of approximately 9,500 m².
All grandstands are oriented towards the Han River, allowing the audience to fully enjoy the spectacular fireworks displays.
Opposite the stage and grandstands, the fireworks area is being completed rapidly.
The fireworks area is set up at Han River Port (Bach Dang Street, Hai Chau District). Currently, the fireworks are being arranged by two teams from Vietnam and Finland for a stunning performance to serve the local audience and tourists.
The launch sites for both teams are situated next to each other, with each team’s area being approximately 100 m long. Teams will efficiently utilize the space to arrange fireworks for their performances.
Each firework tube has a unique identifier for identification.
Due to intermittent rain in Da Nang over the past few days, all fireworks tubes will be covered with tarpaulins to prevent moisture for safety reasons.
DIFF 2023 will take place from June 2 to July 8. The themes for the five nights of performances are: Peace for Humanity (June 2), Love without Borders (June 10), Conquering Dreams (June 17), The Dance of Nature (June 24), and A World without Borders (July 8). The opening night will feature a competition between the teams from Vietnam and Finland.
Final touches are being completed in preparation for the 2023 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) before the “ignition.”
Mr. Stuart Nelson Bensley – Technical Director of the Global 2000 Fireworks Consulting Company stated that DIFF 2023 will feature eight teams from England, Italy, Poland, France, Australia, Canada, Finland, and the host team from Vietnam. With the theme “A World without Borders”, this year’s festival aims to celebrate the robust recovery of global tourism after the pandemic. Each team will have a 20-minute performance, promising to deliver a spectacular light show for visitors to Da Nang.
