Microsoft is preparing to launch two high-end webcams, the VX-3000 and VX-6000, designed to captivate users who love high definition.
Both webcam models are capable of delivering high definition comparable to that of professional cameras, especially the VX-6000.
The VX-3000 offers several features, including: a video resolution of 640×480; seamless integration with Windows Live Messenger; the ability to capture images at a resolution of 1.3 megapixels; zoom functionality controlled via the computer; and the capability to easily record video similar to a camera, as it also includes a built-in microphone. The VX-3000 will be priced at $49.
The VX-6000, priced at $99, boasts many superior advantages over the VX-3000. It can record videos at a speed of 30 frames per second with a resolution of 1.3 megapixels and provides images in “photo mode” at resolutions up to 5 megapixels, making it comparable to standard digital cameras.
With a built-in microphone, owners of these two webcams can easily use the “calling” feature while chatting without the hassle of additional microphones or headphones. As a hardware “specialized” for Windows, simply plugging either of these webcams into a Windows computer will ensure seamless integration with Windows Live Messenger, allowing users to get started immediately. Currently, Microsoft has not announced the release date or revealed any images of these two webcams.
