Instead of popping pimples or applying creams, those looking to treat acne can simply relax on a bed under a monochromatic light that effectively eradicates pimples. Skin condition shows significant improvement after about 4-6 weeks.
Acne is the result of six internal issues: hormonal imbalance, poor excretory system function, lymphatic system unable to detoxify, high intake of spicy foods, lack of proper skin hygiene, and stress on the nervous system. Therefore, to treat acne at its root, it is essential to not only cleanse the infected areas on the skin’s surface but also address the internal and external factors directly causing acne.

Acne – A Struggle Not Just for Women |
Light therapy is one of the new treatment methods that simultaneously addresses these factors by restoring internal balance in the body. In Vietnam, light therapy for acne has been applied in several beauty salons, such as Avida Spa on Tran Hung Dao Street in Ho Chi Minh City and Panmas Cosmedi Spa on Hoa Ma Street in Hanoi.
Monochromatic light is emitted through a system of 590 LED bulbs. Nine colors are used, each with a specific effect in eliminating acne-causing factors. According to Ms. Thu Hue, an employee at Panmas Cosmedi Spa, the choice of color depends on the cause of acne for each individual. The red, orange, and yellow group stimulates blood circulation, pushing deep-seated pimples to the skin’s surface. The purple, indigo, and bright red group supports the liver, kidneys, and lymphatic system to enhance detoxification. The group including blue, green, and turquoise soothes the nerves, reduces pain, and heals irritated pimples.
In addition to eliminating acne from within the body, it is crucial to thoroughly remove the infected areas from the skin using various methods. Medical facilities often prescribe oral medications to shrink pimples, while beauty salons prefer herbal formulations. Ms. Thu Hue notes that herbal preparations help reveal pimples more quickly; they also stimulate the production of new cells to fill in the “gaps” left by the removed pimples.
However, dermatologists advise that even if you are applying an optimal treatment method, acne treatment is not simply about “medicating” at a medical facility or receiving care at a beauty salon, as this process only takes place over a few dozen minutes to an hour. What happens during the remaining time can render your efforts and expenses futile.
Even at home, you can actively treat acne from the inside (maintaining a balanced diet, avoiding spicy foods and alcohol, managing stress) and from the outside (keeping the skin clean and avoiding irritants such as sunlight and dust).
