When and where will SEA Games 32 take place, and how many countries will participate?
SEA Games 32 (the 32nd Southeast Asian Games) will be hosted by Cambodia. This marks the first time a SEA Games event will be held in Cambodia. SEA Games 32 is scheduled to take place from May 5, 2023, to May 17, 2023.

The competitions at SEA Games 32 will be held at five venues: Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, and Kep. The participating countries in SEA Games 32 include: Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Laos, Brunei, and Timor-Leste.
According to the organizing committee, approximately 12,400 members from various delegations will attend SEA Games 32. Specifically, the Thai delegation is the largest with 1,985 members, followed by Indonesia with 1,802 members.
Additionally, the Vietnamese delegation consists of over 1,000 members, Malaysia with around 1,532 members, the Philippines with 1,342 members, Singapore with 1,228 members, and the host nation Cambodia with 1,158 members. Myanmar and Laos will have fewer than 700 members each, while Timor-Leste and Brunei will each have fewer than 200 members.
Where will the opening ceremony take place?
The opening ceremony of SEA Games 32 will occur on May 5, and the closing ceremony will be on May 17 at the Morodok Techo Stadium. The organizing committee has announced that there will be no tickets sold for the opening, closing ceremonies, or any competitions at SEA Games.
Before the opening ceremony of SEA Games 32, 10 sports and sub-sports will have early competitions. The final day of competition for SEA Games 32 will be on May 16, featuring multiple events across 22 sports.

Changes at SEA Games 32
At SEA Games 32, the host nation Cambodia has removed several Olympic sports from the competition, notably fencing, shooting, archery, rowing, and canoeing. Instead, they have opted to include several local sports such as Bokator and Khmer martial arts. Additionally, there will be no players over 22 years old in the men’s football event.

In preparation for SEA Games 32, Cambodia has constructed an athletes’ village next to the Morodok Techo National Stadium in the capital city of Phnom Penh.
The SEA Games village is located on an 8-hectare site, with a capacity of 3,500 people, which is equivalent to 32% of the total 11,000 members of the participating sports delegations.
