Engineer Pham Son Revives Portraits of 10 Famous 20th Century Poets Using AI Technology.
Pham Son, born in 1980, is a telecommunications and television technology engineer with nearly 20 years of experience in the industry. He notes that AI technology is now widely used across various fields. After assisting a military command agency in Bac Ninh province to restore 40 traditional house images, he was inspired to create portraits of his favorite poets using AI for entertainment purposes.
Pham Son selected representative faces of Vietnamese poets from the 20th century, including: Xuan Quynh, Che Lan Vien, Tan Da, Nguyen Khuyen, Phan Boi Chau, Han Mac Tu, Xuan Dieu, To Huu, Huy Can, and Quang Dung.
He mentioned that these are renowned figures he admires, whose verses resonate with his school days.
The engineer was surprised when he posted the images in a small AI technology group on April 18, and they garnered attention, being shared widely on social media.
“Many people messaged me asking about the technique and wanting to learn how to do it. It’s not too difficult for those who love technology and have a basic understanding of IT,” Pham Son said.
According to the engineer from Binh Dinh, the restoration time depends on the quality of the input images; it can be quick or take longer. For high-quality images, he only needs about three minutes to complete the work.
