Mr. Galotin’s family has three children, with Sasha being the youngest. When Mrs. Petrovna, Sasha’s mother, was three months pregnant, she began to experience severe itching and continuous insomnia. Doctors prescribed her many medications, including the sedative Dimedrol. It is only now that she understands that while those pills saved her, they harmed her son.
When Sasha was born, doctors could not diagnose his condition. They only knew that after two months, Sasha hadn’t gained a single gram. The doctors prescribed numerous medications, but nothing changed. At two years old, Sasha finally learned to sit, and at three, he began to walk. By the age of seven, his weight and height were still only that of a three-year-old.
For Sasha, the concept of time is nonexistent. Time seems to stand still for him. He can remain awake for several days without sleep. He does not perceive when night falls or day breaks. Mrs. Petrovna reveals that if every night in Russia is a white night, she wouldn’t need to put her son to bed.
Currently, doctors diagnose Sasha with growth hormone deficiency. The causes of this hormone secretion disorder are very complex. Ten years ago, doctors predicted that Sasha would live a maximum of 18 years, yet he has now reached the age of 30….
