The Upcoming Security Market Welcomes AOL with Free Product “Total Care”
AOL is set to enter the security market with its free product “Total Care,” which aims to compete with similar software offerings from other companies.
The trial version of “Total Care” will be released in the coming weeks for AOL customers and the general public. Total Care is expected to include a range of computer maintenance and system security features, positioning itself alongside Microsoft’s recently announced Windows Live OneCare and upcoming products from Symantec and McAfee.
This marks AOL’s initial steps into the security sector. Additionally, the company is quietly testing another security tool called Active Security Monitor, which will allow users to check and display their computer’s security status on-screen, while providing guidance to enhance system protection.
However, AOL did not develop Total Care independently. The company collaborated with third-party security firms such as McAfee and CA during the software development process.
