The International Wildlife Conservation Organization (FFI) and the British Council, along with representatives from Cathay Pacific and the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, have launched the “Wild Nature Environmental Study 2006” competition for high school students aged 16-18 in Ho Chi Minh City.
Contestants will write an essay in English (no more than 500 words) on environmental and ecological themes based on their personal reflections from daily social activities.
The top three participants will be selected to attend a special environmental course taking place from August 22 to 30 at the Botshabelo Nature Reserve near Johannesburg, South Africa.
Students interested in entering can register at the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City (70 Le Thanh Ton, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) or visit www.cathaypacific.com to download the registration form. The deadline for submissions is June 30, 2006.
