Crafted in 1640, this “raincoat” made from pig intestines remains remarkably intact after nearly four centuries, even preserving the original handwritten Latin inscriptions of its first users.
This vintage condom was discovered in Lund, Sweden. The inscription on the condom indicates that it was reused multiple times, and before each use, it was soaked in warm milk to prevent the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases.
Interestingly, after almost 400 years, this condom still appears as good as new, demonstrating that its users treated it with great care and respect.
This is just one of 250 special artifacts related to the theme of sex displayed at the Tirolean Museum in Austria this summer.
