Concerns have arisen among the residents of Go Ca in Hoa Khương Commune, Hoa Vang District, Da Nang City regarding certain illnesses they suspect are caused by water source pollution. Recently, local authorities conducted a survey and collected samples for analysis, revealing that the water source in this area is heavily contaminated.
The Preventive Health Center, in collaboration with the Da Nang Department of Health, carried out a survey and sample analysis. The analysis of eight water samples taken from eight wells in Go Ca indicated that the water source is heavily polluted by decomposed organic matter (animal remains), far exceeding the permissible levels set by the Ministry of Health.
Specifically, the allowable level of Coliforms is 50/100 ml, but the water sample analysis showed results of 460/100 ml; the permissible amount of E. coli is 0/100 ml, yet the analysis indicated 15/100 ml. This confirms that the water source in this area is not safe for drinking. Analysis of heavy metal components in the water is also underway.
