In Windows, the Taskbar is where the buttons representing the windows of programs are organized, allowing users to switch back and forth during their work. If the number of open windows is manageable, you might not find it too inconvenient, as you can still read the names of the programs on those buttons.
However, as the number of applications running simultaneously increases, the size of the buttons becomes smaller, and mistakenly selecting a program happens more frequently.
To address this, Windows has added a ToolTip display function for the buttons in the Taskbar. When you hover your mouse over these buttons, a line of text appears on a yellow background, providing some information about the program hidden under that button. However, this is still not sufficient as ToolTips usually display for a very short time, making it hard to read all the information.
If your computer has Visual Task Tips, everything will become much simpler and more convenient. Visual Task Tips is a free software that replaces the ToolTip for each button on the Taskbar with a thumbnail image of a window, making it easier for you to identify the program you need to switch to. To zoom in or out on these images for better visibility, simply scroll your mouse up or down.
Version 2.0 of Visual Task Tips is extremely small in size (89.9 KB), compatible with various Windows environments, and was released on May 27, 2006, at www.visualtasktips.com/download.php.
