A servant, while preparing a stork for his master, was persuaded by his lover to cut off one of its legs.
When the stork was placed on the table, the master asked where the other leg was; the servant replied that the stork only had one leg. Determined to catch the servant off guard before punishing him, the master took him to the fields the next day. They observed storks standing on one leg, as is typical for the species.
Triumphant, the servant turned to his master, but the master shouted loudly, causing the flock of storks to put down their other legs and fly away…
– Ah, my lord,
the servant said.
– During last night’s dinner, you didn’t shout at the stork like that! If you had shouted, it would have shown its other leg too!
