Premature Baby Weighing Only 1.6 Pounds (720g) Fights for Life: Ruby Love Lambright’s Journey
A local photographer, hearing about the family’s difficult situation, offered free portraits in exchange for donations to help cover medical costs.
These heartwarming photos have since attracted $2,000 from generous supporters, inspiring even more people to contribute to Ruby’s medical fund.
Baby Ruby Love Lambright
When Ruby Love Lambright was born, she weighed just about 1.6 pounds, small enough to fit in her mother’s hand.
This tiny premature baby from Minneapolis has garnered the support of many philanthropists eager to help pay her medical bills after hearing about her life-threatening journey.
Ruby was born on July 4th, after her mother, Lauren Lambright, went into labor at just 25 weeks. The tiny baby has spent four months in the NICU, undergoing heart surgery, blood transfusions, and eye examinations. Throughout her family’s struggle, Ruby became her name’s inspiration.
Her mother expressed their profound love for her, stating: “We have never loved anything as much as this in our lives,” adding that the name Ruby best represents a miracle to her.
However, Ruby Love Lambright’s parents are struggling with medical bills totaling $10,000.
When photographer Tiffany Kokal learned of Ruby’s story, she used her photography skills to rally support for the Lambright family. Kokal met Ruby’s mother at her previous job at a dental office and recalled: “When I met them, they were very cheerful and happy.”
Now, baby Ruby Love has reached a weight of 7 pounds and is in relatively stable health.
