Inadequate Brushing: Food particles left between teeth can turn into odor-causing bacteria within just a few hours. It is essential to brush at least twice a day. Take your time, brushing for at least three minutes each time. Daily flossing is also recommended to clean between teeth.

Lack of Tongue Scraping: Even if your teeth are shiny and clean, neglecting to clean your tongue can still result in unpleasant odors. If you notice a thick, white, or yellow coating on your tongue when looking in the mirror, that is a breeding ground for bacteria. After brushing your teeth, use a specialized tongue scraper to clean your tongue. A toothbrush can also serve this purpose, but be sure to brush gently.
Tartar Buildup and Cavities: If you notice a strong odor, it’s wise to check for tartar buildup and identify any cavities early. For optimal dental health, it is advisable for normal individuals to have tartar removed twice a year.
Smoking Addiction: Nicotine damages the gums and tongue, creating a particularly foul odor. Additionally, smoking can dry out the saliva glands, fostering the growth of bacteria. If you cannot quit smoking, your breath is unlikely to improve.
Sinusitis or Stomach Ulcers: If your dentist confirms that you have no dental issues, it may be worth considering sinusitis or stomach ulcers. A medical evaluation and treatment may be necessary.
