From July 11 to 15, 2006, in Ho Chi Minh City, the International Data Group Vietnam (IDG Vietnam), the Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association, and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry will jointly organize the “Vietnam Computer Electronics World Expo 2006” and the “Vietnam Information Technology and Communication Panorama Conference 2006” (VCW & VIO 2006).
Mr. Le Thanh Tam, General Director of IDG Vietnam, stated: “As in previous years, VCW & VIO 2006 will continue to be an important event for government officials, policymakers, and experts in the field to meet and exchange views and experiences on trends in IT and telecommunications development, while updating information on the latest advanced technologies. This will facilitate the implementation of impactful IT and telecommunications projects and initiatives. VCW & VIO 2006 will also serve as a bridge for domestic and international businesses to expand their business networks and promote new opportunities.”
Mr. Tam also added that this year’s expo will expand to include items in the Digital Electronics and Entertainment industries, which are currently two significant trends worldwide. According to him, there are already over 180 companies from both domestic and international markets (EU, USA, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, etc.) registered to participate, including well-known companies such as Sony, Canon, Intel, Hitachi, and Fuji Film. The organizers estimate that around 250,000 visitors will attend the exhibition, setting a record high.
The conference program will feature more than 20 presentations. One of the key topics of interest this year is Content Industry, which has received significant attention. Other topics include:
– Strategic IT: How IT leaders (CIOs) can restructure IT systems to support growth.
– Workforce structure and processes to create a dynamic IT organization.
– User perspectives on planning and deploying emerging technologies.
– The future of the CIO role.
– Integrating IT applications with business objectives.
The event consists of two main activities:
– The conference will take place at the New World Hotel, 76 Le Lai, District 1, from July 10 to 11, 2006.
– The exhibition will be held at the Ho Chi Minh City International Conference and Exhibition Center (HIECC), 446 Hoang Van Thụ, Tan Binh District, from July 12 to 15, 2006.
