An asteroid named 2004 XP14, with a diameter that could exceed 800 meters, is rapidly approaching Earth. However, scientists indicate that it will not collide with our planet but will pass very close to us.
The latest calculations show that 2004 XP14 will come closest to Earth at a distance of 432,308 kilometers on July 3rd. This asteroid is classified as a potentially hazardous object by the Minor Planet Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts, due to its significant size and proximity to Earth.
Currently, there are 783 asteroids identified as potentially hazardous to our planet. 2004 XP14 was discovered in December 2004 and belongs to the Apollo group of asteroids, which have orbits that cross Earth’s path.
