Mr. Datuk Sabri Ahmad, the CEO of Golden Hope, announced that the company has commenced the production of its first commercial biodiesel at its facility in Teluk Panglima Garang for export to China, India, South Korea, Japan, and Europe.
The Golden Hope plant located in Pulau Carey, Kuala Langat, is set to begin producing this biodiesel in early 2007, with an annual capacity of 60,000 tons.
Golden Hope is also negotiating to establish a biodiesel production facility in the Netherlands and another one in Bintulu, Malaysia. With four plants, Golden Hope aims to achieve a total output of 390,000 tons of biodiesel per year.
