At the scientific workshop titled “Green Spider”, organized by the Fire Prevention and Fighting University in collaboration with Vietnam-Japan International Escape Equipment Company in Hanoi on June 28, the device received high praise from experts.
Utilizing the falling principle of a spider, allowing for the selection of the landing spot and control over the fall speed, the personal escape device “Green Spider” has been specially designed for evacuation from high-rise buildings in emergencies such as fires or earthquakes.
Key technical specifications of the device include: Evacuation height of 80-85 meters; personal weight limit: 30-120 kg; initial fall speed: 20-70 meters per minute; two automatic braking systems and a manual brake; dimensions of 29 x 23 x 9 cm; weight: 6-7 kg. The product has been registered with the Vietnam Intellectual Property Office, technically sponsored, and successfully prototype-tested at Hanoi University of Science and Technology; it has been certified using automated equipment from Siemens.
