This project will be implemented over two years (2006-2007) with a total budget of 1.425 million USD. Through the transfer of advanced IT technology from South Korea and the establishment of an electronic library at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, KOICA will provide IT equipment to enhance the library’s operations, thereby improving the information system for the Vietnamese people as well as government officials.
KOICA hopes that, with the support for IT infrastructure development and training of IT personnel, this project will contribute to the Vietnamese government’s efforts to reduce the digital divide and support the five-year socio-economic development plan (2006-2010).
It is known that to facilitate this signing ceremony, a team of survey experts dispatched by KOICA to Vietnam from July 2 to July 7, 2006, conducted a detailed survey of the facilities for the installation and establishment of the electronic library system. The team also exchanged views with the project management board of the Academy regarding the implementation plan for the project in the near future.
