Wateen Telecom, a subsidiary of Warid Telecom International, has selected Motorola as its primary provider for planning, designing, and deploying wireless voice and broadband data services in Pakistan.
The integrated solutions and services from Motorola represent a significant first step for Wateen in launching broadband services in Pakistan and entering the digital revolution. This collaboration will enable access to networks, cable modems, multimedia core systems based on Internet Protocol (IMS), and services aimed at quickly and cost-effectively connecting the unconnected.
The subscriber and access points utilizing WIMAX technology based on the 802.16e standard will allow Wateen Telecom to offer broadband data services, including personal and business voice services, Internet access, Virtual Private Network (VPN) services, and public access points.
Motorola is a global leader, pioneering the development of new products in the field of broadband and wireless telecommunications. With a vision of Unlimited Mobility, Motorola is committed to keeping you seamlessly connected to everyone, information, and entertainment whenever you want and need it. |
Integrating Motorola’s IMS solutions enables Wateen Telecom to offer customers VoIP services with advanced features such as caller ID, voicemail, call forwarding, and additional services like prepaid subscriptions and account management through a user-friendly website. For business clients, Wateen Telecom provides VoIP solutions alongside traditional business phone services such as PBX and IP Centrex, including conference calling services with find me/follow me capabilities and desktop integration.
This is a clear indication that WIMAX is a suitable wireless broadband solution for developing countries like Vietnam. Motorola’s cost-effective end-to-end solutions are well-suited for this market, and Motorola Vietnam is actively conducting trial discussions with several partners in Vietnam.
