A recent survey conducted by BirdLife’s consulting experts along with officials from Chư Yang Sin National Park has recorded 244 butterfly species, including 10 species that have never been documented in the Đà Lạt Plateau.
Notably, the survey team also discovered a new butterfly species for Vietnam. This is the birdwing butterfly of the species Troides helena (family Papilionidae), which is listed in Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
