Yesterday (July 11), Sony launched what is considered the world’s smallest USB drive, the Micro Vault Tiny, with storage capacities ranging from 256MB to 4GB.
The Micro Vault Tiny measures just over 1cm in width and approximately 2.5cm in length, with a thickness comparable to a 25-cent coin, equivalent to the thickness of a 5,000 VND coin. Users can differentiate the storage capacities of the various Sony Tiny drives by their exterior colors.
Sony’s product also comes with an application called Virtual Expander. This application has the ability to automatically compress data, allowing the drive to store up to three times the actual capacity.
“The Micro Vault Tiny is designed to provide users with the most user-friendly storage solution, targeting those who appreciate a fashionable style,” said Mike Lucas, Director of Application Solutions and Communications at Sony.
Mr. Lucas also noted that the market demand for USB drives continues to grow, especially as these products have become essential in digital cameras, portable music players, and more.
The Micro Vault Tiny is available in the following storage capacities: 256MB (orange-yellow), 512MB (purple), 1GB (blue), 2GB (light green), and 4GB (violet), with corresponding prices ranging from $29.99 to $199.99.
