In addition to peach blossoms, pink peach, this year’s market has also seen the rise of Yen Tu bellflower peach, golden peach blossoms… with unique colors and shapes that many customers are seeking for the Tet holiday.
1. Yen Tu Bellflower Peach
It is called bellflower peach due to the distinctive shape of its blossoms. Each flower blooms resembling tiny bells hanging in the spring air, creating a charming sight. Thanks to its unique appearance, Yen Tu bellflower peach is as sought after as pink peach and white peach this Tet season.
This flower only blooms in spring, when the weather is still cool.
Ms. Hong (Ba Dinh, Hanoi) shared: “Last year, I saw some people selling Yen Tu bellflower peach, but at that time the price was high, around 800,000 – 1 million VND per branch, so I didn’t buy. Meanwhile, this year I bought a medium-sized bellflower peach branch for only 400,000 VND, including shipping. Currently, some flowers have started to bloom, looking soft, translucent, and beautiful like jelly.”
At several stores, Yen Tu bellflower peach is currently priced at 260,000 – 300,000 VND per bouquet, with a combo of 2 bouquets costing 500,000 VND. The bellflower peach is durable, with flowers blooming over a period of about 2 months, after which they produce fresh green leaves.
Some merchants suggest changing the water every 3 days and misting the flower heads every 2 days to keep the peaches fresh and the flowers blooming beautifully. Each bud of the bellflower peach can bloom into 3 – 5 – 9 flowers, each being a charming little bell.
Bellflower peach is a mountain flower, with branches that resemble dry twigs. This small tree species grows to about 5 meters tall, with small leaves and hairless young branches, distributed at altitudes of 1,400 meters and above. This flower only blooms in spring, when the weather is still cool.
2. Golden Peach Blossoms
Alongside pink peach and white peach, this year the market has also seen the emergence of a striking golden peach blossom, which women are eager to buy for decorating their homes during Tet.
This flower originates from China, currently being sold for 100,000 – 120,000 VND per bouquet. Each bouquet consists of 2 – 4 branches, measuring 60 – 80 cm in length, and when fully opened, spreads to about 30 cm wide.

According to Ms. Huyen, an online plant seller, golden peach blossoms initially come with tiny buds. Once placed in water, they bloom into small yellow flowers densely populating the branches. It takes about 25 – 30 days for all buds to open, allowing the golden peach branch to last quite a while. If people want them to bloom quickly, they can use warm water; otherwise, using cold water will delay blooming, allowing them to last until Tet.
“Golden peach flowers have a vibrant color, and when arranged in a tall vase, they look quite artistic, brightening up the entire room, thus they are favored by women for home decoration. Additionally, they symbolize luxury, luck, and wealth throughout the year. Although they appeared in the market since 2020, this year golden peach blossoms have truly become “hot.” In the days close to Tet, I can sell up to 100 branches a day,” Ms. Huyen shared.
3. Northwest Cherry Blossoms
Every spring, if you have the chance to visit Moc Chau – Son La, Sapa – Lao Cai, you will witness the blooming cherry blossoms bringing radiant pink hues to the Northwest mountains. However, this Tet, you don’t have to travel to the Northwest to enjoy cherry blossoms, as merchants have brought them to the city for the locals to celebrate Tet.

Cherry blossoms have five petals and are beautifully pink. A unique feature of cherry blossoms is that they usually bloom in clusters and are very abundant. This variety is Japanese cherry, which is currently being cultivated in several areas of the Northwest.
A merchant selling Tet plants shared that the cherry blossoms grown in Sapa are cut the evening before, and delivered the next day, ensuring the branches are very fresh. Currently, the branches with buds are starting to bloom; in about 5 – 7 days, they will bloom into large clusters of flowers.
According to surveys, a set of cherry blossoms is currently sold for about 150,000 VND, including 8 – 10 branches, with heights ranging from 1.2 to 1.5 meters.
