Members of the personal diary community online (bloggers) have witnessed the power of the Internet as it serves as a tool for them to locate victims and quickly share their losses following the bombing in Mumbai, India, which claimed the lives of over 200 people and injured 700 others.
On the website mumbaihelp.blogspot.com, numerous photos and descriptions of missing loved ones who have not returned home after the explosions last Tuesday have been posted.

Hemant Patil from the UK wrote a desperate plea on that website, hoping to find his father. Just half an hour later, he received news from those who had spoken with him in Mumbai, the financial capital of the South Asian nation.
“My sister was able to contact Dad. He’s okay, thank God! My father made it home safely when the bombing occurred,” Patil wrote.
Other bloggers, such as Shiladitya, expressed their desire to assist in the search for the missing. “I will take pictures of the injured or deceased who have not yet been identified to share online,” Shiladitya wrote.
Internet users can log onto the site to provide new information about the victims, contact details for the police, hospitals, and more.
